VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES
Computer Operator –
Custodian of race software
Instruct Assistant Computer Operator
Insure all necessary computer hardware is available
Set up and test on Friday evening
Operate computer
8 am to 12:30 pm on race day
Return hardware; safely store software
Assistant Computer Operator –
Set up and test equipment on Friday evening
Operate computer on race day
Provide Cubmaster with final results for trophy order
Insure with Computer Operator that hardware is returned to owners
Race Track Set Up – Friday night
(7 pm to finish)
Set up all elements of track, timing device
Work with computer operator to insure proper interface
Friday Evening Set Up
(7 pm to finish)
Assist with track set up
Set up room including tables for check in, car storage, tool area, photo area, sibling area, computer equipment, and car check out
Set up protective area around track, chairs on sides for adults, room decorations
Prep kitchen area
Photographer
Take photographs of each scout with car after scout checks out car
Take random photographs
Pack supplies camera and film
Car Registrar -
Arrive by 7:55 am Sharp
Register cars, assign numbers, weigh in cars, check for overall compliance
Prepare check in sheets for dens and provide to car judge
Provide computer operator with check in list by grade level
Help all scouts at check in as best able to improve car weight
Assist Car Judge
Car Judge
Evaluate cars by den after all cars checked in but prior to race
Assign individual awards (Pack will supply award categories, sheets, etc.)
Provide information to Announcer throughout race so that awards are announced
Provide final copies of awards to Cubmaster for trophy order
Announcers
Announce race results throughout race on Saturday
Announce individual car awards
Car Check-out
Distribute cars to scouts after scout has finished racing
Distribute patches
Congratulate each scout on job well done!!!
Encourage scout to have his photograph taken with his car.
Snack Monitor
Set up juice boxes, hot chocolate, coffee, popcorn, cookies
(Pack will provide food and supplies)
Keep order in kitchen area
Begin to wind down at
noon except for juice and water
Clean up kitchen area
Race Starters and Race Judges
Arrange cars in order at start of each race
Watch and make ruling of official race
Coordinate with registration and computer operators
Clean up (after race)
Start pick up of tool area after tiger race
Head clean up effort
Encourage other adults to help so clean up will go quickly
All decorations must be packed away, track dismantled, & rooms vacuumed.
